Frequently asked questions
Clear answers on the guarantee, switching, how we are paid and Letters of Authority.
The guarantee and our services
What is the Trinity Guarantee?
Where applicable, if we cannot beat your existing renewal quotation for gas, electricity or business mobile services, Trinity will contribute towards the bill for up to 12 months, to a maximum of £5,000, subject to the terms and conditions of the guarantee.
How do I switch my business energy?
Switching is seamless; our team handles the entire contract renewal process to ensure zero downtime and maximum savings.
Are your business SIM cards really unlimited?
Yes. Our business mobile proposition includes unlimited business SIMs, subject to your requirements and current commercial availability.
Which networks and suppliers do you work with?
We work across multiple networks and suppliers rather than being restricted to a single provider, so options can be compared properly.
Do you cover water and card payments as well?
Yes. Business water and merchant services sit alongside our main energy and telecoms work, and are reviewed the same way through the same point of contact.
What sectors do you work with?
SMEs and growing businesses through to professional services, retail, hospitality, care organisations, construction, manufacturing, property and facilities, multi-site organisations and businesses with mobile workforces.
Can you combine everything into one point of contact?
Yes. Instead of dealing separately with an energy broker, mobile provider and telecoms company, Trinity acts as a single commercial point of contact across all of it.
How we work
How does Trinity make money?
Our service is usually free for businesses to use.
When you choose an energy or telecoms service through Trinity, we may receive a commission, referral fee or reseller margin from the supplier or service provider. This is how we’re able to provide our advice, market comparisons and ongoing support without charging you a separate brokerage fee.
Where applicable, we will be transparent about how we are remunerated before you enter into a contract.
Our aim is simple: to find the right solution for your business, not simply the most expensive one.
You remain in control throughout the process, and there is no obligation to proceed with a Trinity recommendation.
Are your prices inflated because you receive commission?
Not necessarily.
Our supplier relationships allow us to access commercial rates and solutions that may not be available to businesses approaching providers independently. Where Trinity receives commission or a margin, this will be handled in accordance with our supplier agreements and disclosed where required.
We compare available options based on the needs of your business, taking into account price, contract terms, service, reliability and suitability — not simply the commission available to Trinity.
Our goal is to build long-term relationships with our customers, so we believe the right solution should work for both your business and ours.
What happens if I have a dispute with a supplier?
If things go wrong, you may contact the Dispute Resolution Ombudsman. Visit disputeresolutionombudsman.org or telephone 0333 241 3209. Our full Ombudsman statement explains how it works.
Where are you based?
We are based at Stamp Exchange on Westgate Road in Newcastle upon Tyne, with a representative in London, and we work with businesses throughout the UK.
Letters of Authority
What is a Letter of Authority (LOA)?
A Letter of Authority (LOA) gives Trinity permission to act on your behalf when obtaining information and quotations from energy and telecoms suppliers.
It allows us to do the legwork for you — such as requesting current contract information, checking renewal dates, obtaining usage data and comparing available options — without you having to contact multiple suppliers yourself.
Signing an LOA does not commit you to purchasing a new contract through Trinity. Any new energy or telecoms agreement would require your separate agreement before it is entered into.
Download our LOA template below.
Why do I need to sign an LOA?
Suppliers and providers often require formal authorisation before they will release commercially sensitive information about your account.
Your LOA allows Trinity to:
- Request relevant account and contract information
- Check renewal dates and existing arrangements
- Obtain quotations on your behalf
- Compare available market options
- Liaise with suppliers and providers
- Help manage the switching or renewal process where you instruct us to proceed
Does an LOA lock me into Trinity?
No.
An LOA is an authority to obtain information and act on your behalf within the scope stated in the document. It is not itself a contract for energy or telecoms services and does not automatically commit you to a new supplier or tariff.
Any new contract will be subject to your approval and the supplier’s contractual terms.
Can I cancel my LOA?
Yes. You can withdraw your authority in accordance with the terms of the LOA. If you no longer want Trinity to act on your behalf, simply contact us and we will explain the process.
Is my information safe?
Trinity only requests information that is reasonably required to assess your existing services and identify suitable alternatives. We handle information in accordance with applicable data protection legislation and our Privacy Policy.
